Our challenge was to respond to the landscape and vernacular context of the site located in rural Hillsborough, North Carolina, while addressing issues of sustainability and the contemporary tastes of the clients. Using off-the-shelf materials, passive solar design, and energy efficient building strategies, we've come up with a cost-effective building in both initial investment and longterm operational costs.
